The European Union began to reduce the HFCs quota in the European market in 2016, and by 2018 it was reduced to 63% of the baseline level.

Ole Nielsen, Director of the Montreal Protocol Division of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, also specifically mentioned the EU F-Gas Act when introducing the global HFCs control policy. He said that the effective implementation of the F-Gas Act has had a very obvious impact on the market. The price of HFC refrigerants in Europe has shown a very obvious change, which has increased by 8 times compared with 2014, and the price of some refrigerants has increased by 10 times.
