1. What are R22 and R410A?

1. The chemical name of R22 is difluorochloromethane, which is a member of the Freon family and belongs to Hydrochlorofluorocarbons.

Before the advent of R410A, most of the refrigerant used in air conditioners was R22. Because this refrigerant is very harmful to the ozone layer, according to the Montreal Protocol, it will be completely phased out before 2020.

2. R410A is a new type of refrigerant.

The new R410A refrigerant is composed of two quasi-azeotropic mixtures, mainly composed of hydrogen, fluorine and carbon elements, and has the characteristics of stability, non-toxicity, and superior performance. At the same time, since it does not contain chlorine, it will not react with ozone, that is, it will not destroy the ozone layer.

In addition, the performance of air conditioners using new refrigerants will also be improved. R410A is the most suitable refrigerant to replace R22, which is recognized internationally so far, and it is popularized in Europe, America, Japan and other countries.

2. Why should R410A be used instead of R22?

1. R410A is of low toxicity and shows no combustion spread.

2. The ozone layer destruction coefficient of R410A is 0, and the ozone layer destruction coefficient of R22 is 0.05.

3. When using R410A, the total heat transfer characteristics of the system are larger than R22, so the system efficiency can be improved and the heat transfer area of u200bu200bthe heat exchanger can be reduced.

Third, the different characteristics of R410A and R22

1. R410A is composed of HFC-32 (R32) and HFC-125 with a weight ratio of 50% each The mixed refrigerant is a nearly azeotropic mixed refrigerant. R22 is a single substance refrigerant.

2. The operating pressure of R410A is about 50~70% higher than that of R22.

3. R410A has a higher vapor density than R22. For systems with the same capacity, the required refrigerant mass flow rate is the same. Because the gas pipes are all the same diameter, the steam flow rate of R410A is about 30% slower than that of R22.
