Compared with R-12 air conditioning system, R-134a has similar thermal properties and system structure. The biggest difference is the refrigerating oil. Refrigeration oil is a liquid lubricant that is compatible with refrigerants, can lubricate the compressor and has stable chemical properties. R-12 refrigeration oil is a mineral oil that is soluble in R-12. People in the air-conditioning industry know that R-134a is a polar refrigerant with strong molecular polarity.
